Subject: We are setting up a launch on 6/28 - weather permitting
From: Tripoli Minnesota

Good morning!

we had over 50 members responding to the poll and more than 25 interested in a rocket launch on 6/28.

With this big interest, we decided to set up the launch for this Saturday. But there are a few caveats, so please read to the end...

Weather:
There is significant uncertainty with the weather. A huge area of intense rain will hit eastern Minnesota and western Wisconsin on Wednesday and Thursday. Initially it looked like North Branch would only get 1 inch or less of rain, now the system shifted and the forecast is for over 2 inches. At the end we have to wait and see how much rain falls at the field.
If it is too much rain the roads will turn into a muddy swamp and are impassable. Both Brian and Dave had to be towed out because their cars got stuck in the mud when they were checking on field conditions.  We will not be able to fly if the roads and the fields are too wet.

So as always, the final decision on the  launch will be made Friday at noon. Please look for the launch email.

Other things to consider:
- Saturday still will be on the warm side with temperatures in the 80s and heat index of 90.
- We will start setup at 8:00 am and open the waiver at 9:00 am
- We probably will shut down earlier than normal, between 1:00 and 2:00 pm, please come with well prepared rockets
- We might set up fewer pads than normal
- Rob will be there and as TAP can do certifications, but he needs to leave around noon, so certification flights must happen before 12:00
- Gary will be there for motor sales
- there will be no food sales
- we will try to get the porta-potty

Please let me know if you have questions or concerns.
